António Bob Santos – Smart Cities Project Manager at CEiiA (Centre for Innovation and Creative Engineering) will present on Friday, May 20, from 11.15 to 12.00 in the Auditorium: “Challenges for Future Cities“
António Bob Santos is currently a Phd researcher in Economics at ISCTE-IUL (University Institute of Lisbon), with research focused on open innovation, clusters and innovation policy. He is also Smart Cities project manager at CEiiA (Centre for Innovation and Creative Engineering). António is a former Advisor to the Portuguese Government in innovation policy. In the period 2011-2013 he had responsibilities in the definition and in the deputy-coordination of the Portuguese Digital Agenda, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship National Programme (+E+I) and the Clusters national program. Before that (2005-2011) he had responsibilities in the deputy-coordination of the following programmes: the Technological Plan, the Digital Agenda 2015, the Lisbon Strategy and the EU2020 strategy in Portugal, the National Strategy for Sustainable Development (ENDS 2005-2015) and the European Year of Innovation and Creativity in Portugal (2009). In the period 2002-2005 Antonio worked at UMIC – Agency for Knowledge Society – where has designed initiatives like b-On (Online Knowledge Library), NEOTEC (Technology-based companies programme) or OTIC (Technology Transfer Offices). He was a visiting Assistant Professor at Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (2008-2012), with the coordination of the “eGovernment” chair in the Master of Multimedia Education and Communication. He is author of academic and non-academic articles about innovation, innovation policy, open innovation and clusters. Antonio is a member of the European Economic Association and of the Portuguese Economic Association.

João Guedes Barbosa, 51 years old, was born in Porto, Portugal. With a degree in Psychology at Universidade do Porto and a Master at Universidade do Minho, he started as consultant at Dynargie in 1990. After the MBO in 2006, he becomes CEO at Dynargie, maintaining his function as Country Manager of Dynargie Portugal (since 1996) and Dynargie Spain (since 2002).
Since the academic year 2011/2012, he is responsible for teaching the discipline Change Management to the MBA international promoted by Católica Porto Business School (UCP).
Manuel Dias – Business Analytics Lead at Microsoft Portugal will present on Saturday, May 21, from 12.00 to 12.45 in the Auditorium: “Business Analytics in the Big Data Era – From data to intelligent actions“
Manuel Dias has over 20 years’ experience in Information Systems, in diverse roles from Software Development, Product Management and Advanced Analytics.
Manuel started his career at EFACEC leading a R&D team on real-time embedded systems, then moved to OutSystems where he held several roles, ranging from creating a new Business Solutions unit to the Product Management leadership.
In 2010 Manuel joined Microsoft where he’s responsible for the Analytics area in the Enterprise Market, covering Business Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Insights initiatives.
Manuel is also Invited Assistant Professor at NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) in the Advanced Analytics Master Degree Program.
Manuel has a graduation in Electronics and Computer Science from Instituto Superior Técnico and a Master Degree in Information Systems from ISEG.
