UA – Universidade de Aveiro was founded in 1973, and counts with 16 departments and 4 polytechnic schools, ranking in the 51-75 position in Times Higher Education – Europe Teaching Rankings.

UA is an “University of People”, a public Foundation since 2009 under private law. It is currently attended by approximately 17000 graduate and post-graduate students, 9% of which are international students. The academic community further comprises around 1400 teaching staff and researchers, and 630 technical, administrative and managerial staff.

Besides several teaching and research buildings, UA’s campi also have student and teacher residences, conference and concert rooms, canteens, a sports hall, libraries and a bar in almost every department. You will also find an athletics track, a stationery and book shop, as well as a pharmacy. All this surrounded by the natural beauty of the Aveiro region.
