Maria José Sousa (PhD in Management) is a University Professor and a research fellow at ISCTE/Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. Her research interests currently are public policies, information science, innovation and management issues. She is a best seller author in Research Methods, ICT and People Management and has co-authored over 100 articles and book chapters and is the guest-editor of more than 5 Special Issues from Elsevier and Springer. She has coordinated several European projects of innovation and is also External Expert of COST Association – European Cooperation in Science and Technology and is former President of the ISO/TC 260 – Human Resources Management, representing Portugal in the International Organization for Standardization.

Ana Catarina Gomes is a biochemist with a PhD in molecular biology and an MBA. She has over 15ys experience in the Bio & MedTech sectors, where she has assumed different functions. Currently, as the CEO of CBR Genomics, Ana Catarina is on a mission to disrupt the Genomic Medicine paradigm and aims at bring DNA to the everyday clinical practice and to families, by delivering a whole new concept of healthcare based on genetic screening tailored to the one’s needs – from newborns up to adulthood.

14:30 – 15:15 Norberto Amaral – Master Storytelling for Business | Moderators: Irina Amaral & Sandra Filipe

Norberto Amaral is a communications consultant, trainer and coach, helping people and institutions deliver amazing presentations in public – in front of two, or two thousand people. Recently he wrote a book on this subject called ‘Impact – How to Communicate in Public’ – published by Penguin Random House, so far only in Portuguese. He leads and organises TEDxPorto, Portugal’s largest TEDx event curating a wonderful experience, including speakers with some of the most life- and world-changing ideas and projects from Porto to the world, and from the world to Porto. He has been a Toastmaster since 2011, having performed various leadership roles, namely vice-president and president of his club, area director and division director. Recently attained the status of Distinguished Toastmaster, the highest status in the organisation. Norberto is managing partner of Cultiv, a consulting company for communication, creativity and innovation, organisation of events and design of workspaces.

José Manuel Cotilla Conceição is Director of International Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement Minor at Avans University. With a Bachelor in Education, Master in Research in the area of Education, Master in Project Management, MBA and PhD in Education, his areas of expertise are project management, L&D, innovation, leadership, ICT and didactics, sustainability, and adaptability, especially in project-based organizations and impact large-scale companies. He leads initiatives and coordinates teams to develop innovative and sustainable solutions. With passion and curiosity, he engages others in experimenting with out-of-the-box solutions and continues learning. He opens up new possibilities by analyzing the broader picture and exploring multiple perspectives. Cross-cultural environments and inter-disciplinary collaborations are a great source of inspiration for him. He is a firm believer in co-creation.
